Whales . By: Jessica Aguilera. The history of whaling. Whaling was practice since 6000 B.C. by Primitive tribes. PRIMITIVE TRIBES. When tribes hunted they would many times celebrate the fact that a whales was hunt. The tribes used the whales’ meat, bones and oil for their survival.

  2. The history of whaling Whaling was practice since 6000 B.C. by Primitive tribes.

  3. PRIMITIVE TRIBES When tribes hunted they would many times celebrate the fact that a whales was hunt. The tribes used the whales’ meat, bones and oil for their survival.

  4. Primitives tribes made their homes or caves out of whale bones and sticks to protect themselves from danger such as wild animals and bad weather.

  5. Tribes work the whales’ bones to make useful objects.

  6. Primitive Whale Hunt They used their own strength They used arrows They used rocks They used technique they would make a whales go to a place with no escape and then kill it..

  7. Colonial Times

  8. Uses During the colonial times, lamps were light up by using the whales’ oil.

  9. Later a new use was found. By the 20th century whale bones were used in furniture and other homes accessories.

  10. Dominos were also made out of whale bone

  11. Today Millions of whales are kill for money by Japan Whales are killed for Their meat, oil and bones.

  12. Do they really need to kill the whales for their resources?

  13. The answer is No Electricity Plastic Beef Chicken Pork And other sea food that is not whale.

  15. IWC It was established in 1986 to regulate whaling around the world. Its main concern is the declined of the whales population due to excessive hunting and under reporting.

  18. ONLY RESEARCH? Japan assures that they are only whaling for scientific research and investigations Japan gains right that allows them to over hunt endangered species too.

  19. BREAKING THE LAW Japan breaks the IWC whaling laws by creating programs like JARPA that allows them to go over the limits established by the IWC.

  21. For scientific research Only? At first Japan claims to whale only for scientific research. They don’t want anything to go to waste, so they sell the whales’ meat. Given them a profit.

  24. Electric lances and canyons are often use now to kill whales. Event if the whales is able to escape it will die from the damage
