  1. Citing Sources in MLA Format in Word & EasyBib (a cheat-sheet)

  2. 1. Go to the “references” tab in Word

  3. 2. Click on Style & Select MLA

  4. 3. Select “Manage Sources”

  5. 4. Select “New”

  6. 5. Fill in AS MUCH information as you can in the blank fields Last name, First name For more than one author, separate them with a semicolon ; When finished, select “OK”

  7. 7. You will have this:

  8. 8. Continue adding new sources by selecting “New” and repeating steps 4-7

  9. 9. When you’ve added several, it will look like this:

  10. 10. When all your sources have been entered, select “Close.”

  11. Helpful Tip #1: You may edit sources by selecting “Edit.”

  12. Helpful Tip #2: You may add more information fields by checking the box “Show All Bibliography Fields”.

  13. 11. For your Bibliography page, select “Bibliography,” then “Insert Bibliography.”

  15. Helpful Tip#3: Highlight your Bibliography to change the size, font, and spacing.

  16. 13. To cite a source in-text after typing information, click on “Insert Citation” and select the source it came from.

  17. 14. This is what it will look like: You should cite a source every time you use someone else’s information!

  18. 15. If you need to add a page number (for a direct quote), click on the source citation. Select “Edit Citation” from the drop down box. Here you can type in pages, or leave out the authors name or date. It will look like this:

  19. You may also use www.easybib.com New Users: Please go to http://www.easybib.com/auth/register/index/coupon/cedarhillhs2012. This link will take users to the registration page, where they can create accounts by filling in the required information. Once they have created accounts they can simply go to easybib.com and login to access their School Edition account from anywhere.  Existing Users: If a user already has an account, they can upgrade it to School Edition by clicking the "coupon codes" link on their projects page and entering the code "cedarhillhs2012" (all lowercase and one word).
