  2. Characteristics of Millennial Generation • Born between 1982 and present • Experienced 9-11, Columbine, Oklahoma City Bombing, Clinton Impeachment Trial, O.J. Simpson Trial • Popular messages were “be smart-you are special”, “leave no one behind”, “achieve now”, and “serve your community” • Racially and ethnically diverse, confident, self-assured, achieving, sheltered, stressed, team-oriented, extremely close with parents • Technology lifestyle and trial-and-error learning strategy • College exposure to vast amount of broad information • Many have had part-time jobs • Well aware of rules but enjoy challenges of overcoming rules
