  2. What’s Gender Identity Disorder? • A conflict between a person’s actual physical gender and the gender that person identifies himself or herself as.

  3. MUDT • Maladaptivity: Keeps thinking that they are of the opposite sex; affects their daily behaviors and activities. • Unjustifiable Behavior: Abnormal for a girl/guy to have the need to be someone from opposite gender. • Disturbing Behavior: Parents have to buy them clothes or other necessities to meet their gender requirements. • Typicality: Abnormal for a girl/guy that wants to be the opposition gender.

  4. Symptoms - Children • Are disgusted by their own genitals • Are rejected by their peers, feel alone • Believe that they will grow up to become the opposite sex • Have depression or anxiety • Say that they want to be the opposite sex

  5. Symptoms - Adults • Dress like the opposite sex • Feel alone • Have depression or anxiety • Want to live as a person of the opposite sex • Wish to be rid of their own genitals

  6. Causes – Biological/Psychological • Unknown • Mentality • Hormones

  7. Therapy • Surgery Therapy • Hormonal Therapy • Breast Cancer • Death • Get treated.
