  1. DHS Bulldog Announcements THURSday, September 12, 2019

  2. LOANER DEVICES • Loaner devices are to be turned into the Technology Office in the Media Center on the same day they are checked out.

  3. HOMECOMING ROYALTY • It’s homecoming time! If you are interested in running for your grade level king/queen or Mr./Mrs. DHS, packets are available in room 110, room 706 or on the SGA website. • Applications are due Friday, September 13, 2019.

  4. STUDENT GOVERNMENT • Congratulations to the class of 2023’s President A’vandia Fedd and Vice-President Antonio Mattox. • If you would like to help your class succeed this year, please see one of your newly elected officers.

  5. ATHLETE OF THE WEEK • The athlete of the week is Kellyn King. Kellyn embodies the spirit of volleyball. She always has a good attitude and willingness to learn. She is super supportive of her teammates and has improved in all areas of the game. You can count on her for a good serve in a clutch moment. She currently boasts an 83% serving rating. • Congratulations, Kellyn!

  6. A HELPING HAND • Peer tutoring assistance is available in the media center. • If you would like a helping hand, please come to the Media Center during any block except IF.

  7. CAPS & gowns • Herff Jones will be at DHS today and tomorrow from 11:40 am-1:45 pm in the Commons during all lunch waves and Saturday, September 14th from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm for cap and gown orders. • The cost of the cap and gown is $85. A deposit of $10 is sufficient to reserve your items.

  8. G.A.m.E. Club • The G.A.M.E. Club will meet today (9/12) and every Thursday during the semester from 3:25 PM to 5:25 PM in room 127. • If you like Anime, games or anything along those lines, please join us!

  9. SCIENCE FAIR NIGHT • Science Fair night will be held today from 4:00-4:30 PM. • Please stop by prior to attending parent-teacher conference night.

  10. Parent – teacher conferences • Parent-Teacher conferences will be held today from 4 PM to 7 PM. • If you signed up for a conference, we look forward to seeing you.

  11. GEZZO’S SPIRIT NIGHT • Tonight and every Thursday night during football season is Spirit Night at Gezzo’s. • Please come out and support your Dawgs while enjoying dinner!

  12. GAME TIME • JV & Varsity softball will face off against Luella & Pike County High Schools today in the DHS gym at 5:15 PM. • Varsity softball will host Eagle’s Landing High this afternoon at 5:55 PM. • Freshman football will play this evening at Ola High at 6:00 PM. • The JV Bulldogs team will host the Mustangs of Ola at 6:00 PM tonight in Bulldog Stadium.

  13. BAKED Potato bar • The FCCLA will host a baked potato bar on Friday, September 13. • Pre-sales have begun. The cost is $4. See Ms. Branion or Ms. Winters for more information.

  14. I.S.D.S. • On Monday, September 16, there will be a meeting for ISDS and students who have taken at least (3) years of Spanish and would like to teach at Dutchtown Elementary this school year. • The meeting will be in room 212 from 3:30 PM to 3:45 PM.

  15. STEP TEAM • The DHS Kode Red Step team will have an interest meeting on Wednesday, September 18, from 3:30 to 4:00 PM in room 307. • Boys and girls are welcome!

  16. SINK OR SWIM • Ladies! Are you interested in trying out for the Swim Team? • There will be an interest meeting on Wednesday, September 18, immediately after school in the new auxiliary gym. Please have your ride pick you up by 4:00 PM. • If you are unable to attend or have questions, please see Coach Haley in the gym.

  17. GIRLS’ BASKETBALL MEETING Attention all female athletes: There will be a basketball interest meeting on Wednesday, September 18, at 6:00 PM in the auxiliary gym. This meeting is mandatory for all players and parents. Please make arrangements to attend with parents. We will begin promptly at 6 PM and dismiss at 6:30 PM.

  18. THE DUTCHTOWN PLAYERS • Come see The Blue and The Grey at the PAC on Wednesday, September 18, at 7:00 PM starring The Dutchtown Players. • Presale tickets are $3 for students and $7 for everyone else. For tickets purchased at the door, the student price is $5 and $10 for all others.

  19. SOPHOMORE LUNCH JAM • Sophomore Lunch Jam will be held on Friday, September 20, during 4th block. • The cost is $5.00 to get in and $10 if you are ordering food. • Tickets can be purchased from Coach Wesley in room 209 or during any lunch.

  20. SAVE THE DATE • Georgia Tech will host a NACAC Stem College & Career Fair from 1pm to 4pm on Sunday, September 29, at McCamish Pavilion. • Free registration at www.gotomystemfair.com.

  21. All seniors graduating in May must pay the mandatory senior fee of $200. The first payment of $50 is due on Monday, September 30. You may pay Ms. Martin in room 110 before school, during 4th block or directly after school. Please see Ms. Martin with questions.

  22. JUNIOR & SENIOR PROM • The junior and senior prom will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at the Four Seasons Atlanta. • Prom tickets are now on sale and can be purchased for $110 each until September 30. Prices will increase thereafter. • Tickets can be bought online at myschoolbucks.com. They may also be purchased from Ms. Johnson in room 224 using cash, check or money order.

  23. MR. & MRS. DRAMA • Please stop by room 308 to vote for Mr. and Mrs. Drama. • Deadline for voting is September 30.

  24. ASVAB • The ASVAB will be given on Tuesday, October 8. • Please go to the counseling office to sign up.

  25. Senior portraits • Cady Studios will be back at DHS for the final senior yearbook picture day on Monday, October 14. • If you do not sign up for this day, you will have to go to one of the Cady Studios locations. • Please go to www.cadystudios.com to schedule your session. The cost is $30. See Ms. Martin in room 110 with questions.
