  2. Breast cancer screening means checking a woman’s breasts for cancer before there are signs or symptoms of the disease. All women need to be informed by their health care provider about the best screening options for them. Introduction Breast cancer is a disease in which cells in the breast grow out of control. There are different kinds of breast cancer. The kind of breast cancer depends on which cells in the breast turn into cancer.

  3. Test for Breast Cancer A mammogram is a radiological tool used to image breast tissue. Simply an X-ray of the breast. Mammography helps to evaluate and diagnose conditions. This imaging does not prevent, cancer, but rather aids in early detection of cancer before it has a chance to spread

Types of mammography Screening Mammogram:- A screening mammograms is an X-ray of the breast used to detect breast changes in women who have no signs or symptoms of breast cancer, it usually involves 2 x-rays of each breast. Using a mammogram, it is possible to detect a tumor that cannot be felt. Diagnostic mammogram:- A diagnostic mammogram is an x-ray of the breast used to diagnose unusual breast changes such as a lump, pain nipple thickening of discharge or a change in breast size and shape. A diagnostic mammogram is also used to evaluate abnormalities detected on a screening mammogram.

  7. Benefits of screening You're also less likely to need a mastectomy (breast removal) or chemotherapy if breast cancer is detected at an early stage. Breast screening helps identify breast cancer early. The earlier the condition is found, the better the chances of surviving it.

  8. Importance Women who are at least 40 years old should schedule a mammogram annually. This test should be scheduled yearly even if the person has no symptoms. Women who are between the ages of 20 and 30 should schedule a clinical breast exam every three years. Discuss your concerns and risk factors with a medical professional.
