The process begins with identifying the need for a position to be filled. This can happen at any time during the year, so recruiters start at various times during the year.

Note also that they sometimes identify what the position is AFTER they have recruited for it.

In any step of the process you may hear that some classmates have advanced, some have been declined, and you have heard nothing. Recruiters often keep some candidates in a holding pattern waiting to see if they have success with the candidates they selected. If not, then they will circle back and talk to folks they have kept waiting. Do not take this as an insult; it is to your credit that you more than made their cut-off.
