  16. This makes for a better campaign because… • it is an opportunity to engage and educate employees year round • education and awareness are crucial to a successful campaign • these are ideal opportunities to think about who would benefit from United Way exposure Jumpstart 2009

  17. This makes for a better campaign because… • they allow for employees to go back to work and them share their experience with other employees • in addition to a better campaign, this is also great teambuilding activities Jumpstart 2009

  18. We know that… • People who volunteer give more money. • “A 2008 study by the Center for Responsible Business at the University of Berkeley showed that people who volunteer time are more likely to give more money than those that were only asked to donate funds.” Jumpstart 2009

  19. We know that… • They gave before it finally clicked, they get it when you see it first hand, and it is so much easier to give • Because employees make the connection between their dollars and how their local community is helped, the employees then understand the importance of giving to United Way Community Investment, thus increasing campaign dollars Jumpstart 2009
