PRODUCER • Organiser • Ultimately responsible for the delivery of the film • Creative collaborator • Can double up as production manager during the duration of the days leading up to and including the shoot. • Manage all the time sheets, crew calls, actor/performer releases, location releases, legals & budget

  3. Director • Translate the vision of the writer or the creative collaborators into film language. • Creative decision maker – stay with project from pre-production to final cut • Strong overview of all other crew roles • Key conduit for discussions between crew & performers • Able to motivate and guide and assist and make everyone feel good about their work

  4. DoP/Operator • Responsible for the vision of the film @ pre-production stage as well as during production • Need to do test shoots on location to demo creative ideas • Responsible for all camera gear hire, set up, packing away • Need to be familiar with all the camera equipment.

  5. Sound Designer/Operator • Responsible for the audio of the film @ pre-production stage as well as during production • Need to do tests on location to demo creative ideas • Need to collaborate with DoP for devising coverage • Responsible for all sound gear hire, set up, packing away • Need to be familiar with all the sound equipment. • Collaborate with the editor on sound design, fx, music and clearances

  6. Editor • Responsible for the postproduction and therefore fundamental @ pre-production stage to determine narrative, drama and possibilities • If there are special effects – will need to test their viability • Opportunity to become the Storyteller

  7. Designer • Responsible for the mise-en-scene, the look and the details of the production • Provide actors with costumes and coordinate wardrobe, make up (especially special effects) and props • Liaise with entire creative team to ensure the appropriate look and feel

  8. Catering • Most important part of the production process is the catering – work it out in advance
