  2. Конкурс 2: Riddles. This animal lives in the forest. It’s neither big nor small. It likes to eat carrots and it is afraid of a fox and a wolf. This animal run very fast.

  3. This animal is very big. It is grey and sometimes white. It has a very long nose. It lives in India and Africa. It likes to eat leaves and grass.

  4. This animal lives at home or in the street. It is a man’s friend. It can run, but can’t fly and climb. It is very clever and friendly.

  5. This animals lives in the river or near the water. It is green. It can jump and swim, but it can neither run nor climb.

  6. Gena is not a boy. He is big, long and green. He is very clever. It can swim. He has a friend Cheburashka.

  7. This animal is red and sly. It likes hens, cocks, hares and ducks. It lives in the forest.

  8. It is grey. It can run, jump and walk. It is very small. It likes bread and cheese. It lives in the house.

  9. This animal can be black, grey, white or red. It lives in the house. It can catch grey mouse. It likes milk, meat and fish. It can jump, run, climb and walk.

Конкурс 3. • The biggest dinosaurs • The biggest dinosaurs were gigantic, slow-moving, tiny-headed, cow-like plant-eaters. • They had very long necks which were useful for reaching leaves from tall trees. Among the largest land animals ever discovered one should mention: Seismosaurus, Apatosaurus, and Diplodocus.

  11. One of the biggest carnivorous (meat-eating) dinosaurs was Tyrannosaurus Rex. • One of the tallest dinosaurs was Brachiosaurus. • But blue whales are bigger than any of the dinosaurs were!

  12. Where did dinosaurs live? • All dinosaurs lived on land. They walked on two or four legs. Some of them moved slowly (for example, Apatosaurus), but other dinosaurs moved fast (for example, Compsognathus).

  13. What did they eat? • Most dinosaurs did not eat meat, they were plant-eaters. But some of them were meat-eaters, they killed smaller dinosaurs for food.
