November 20, 2013 Community Partnership for Attainment Self-Assessment
Purpose of the Self-Assessment • Help communities understand unique strengths and obstacles towards developing a partnership that impacts community level higher education attainment outcomes. • Primary purpose is for mutual learning about evolving partnerships • Help Lumina team identify promising practices and areas of potential strategic assistance
Self-Assessment Background • Online self-assessment tool on the Qualtrics platform • Initial self-assessment as the cohort commences work • Subsequent progress self-assessments at the request of communities • Data shared back with communities and Lumina Foundation
Self-Assessment Areas of Inquiry • Geographic scope • Vision of increasing higher education attainment • Accountability structure • Community messages & communications strategy • Community level outcomes • Core indicators for the community level outcomes • Data reporting and analysis • Approach to continuous improvement • Coordinating organization; management approach • Funder engagement Note: Sites that are part of Lumina CPA and the StriveTogether National Cradle to Career Network will have one integrated assessment.
Self-Assessment Approach for Communities • A team convenes to review the Self-Assessment questions • Delegate milestone specific question to the individual most familiar with that work • Designate Self-Assessment point person • Point person to compile responses and supporting documents for submission
Timeline for Implementation • December 3, 2013 – Assessment Overview sessions at Convening • December 9, 2013 – Self-Assessment packet sent to partnership key contact (electronic) • January 6, 2013 – Self-Assessment due date for sites that are also part of the StriveTogether Cradle to Career Network • January 13, 2013 – All other sites
Feedback Loop to Communities • In mid-February, you will receive feedback on the self-assessment • A similar report will be shared with Lumina Foundation • Key findings will include progress on milestones and opportunities for potential strategic assistance and related supports
