  5. Randoseru • back pack • commonly used in Japan by primary schoolchildren • Traditionally, the randoseru is red for girls, and black for boys.

  6. What do they learn? Subjects Japanese Math Science Social Studies Music Gym Foreign Languages Moral Education

  7. Gym Class • Students wear their school uniforms • Most of the schools have a swimming class • They learn group behavior in the gym class

  8. Kyushoku (School meal) • 99％of elementary school students and 82% of junior high school students eat Kyushoku. • Parents pay 250 to 300 yen for each meal.

  9. Cleaning • Cleaning is conducted as a part of school education. • After the classes, they clean hall ways, a gymnastic hall, and a play ground as well as classroom.

  10. Secondary students usually go to school by bicycle or on foot. High school students usually go to school by train or bicycle
