Final Steps: Preparation for an IP Placement The On Track eLearning package uses a Student Placement framework to outline the key steps needed to provide student placements. This framework will be used here to outline specific steps to be considered in setting up or enhancing IP learning in a student placement. Print off the IPL Plan and Review Template to make notes and start planning. “Building and sustaining training in WA”

Perform Key elements to consider; • Access minimum level of supervision training needed as part of team roles and responsibilities (See Module Competencies) • Develop your placement processes for consistency of placement experiences - see examples in Curtin IPP Facilitator Guidelines • Keep a record of issues arising during the placement and how issues were resolved. “Building and sustaining training in WA”
Reflect, Review & Revise Key actions needed • Gather student feedback • Schedule team reflection / review of student placement – analyse feedback and address record of issues to mitigate future risks of reoccurrence • Plan for future placements; adjust the design – type / scope of placement • Monitor and enhance the team’s interprofessional practices; Review the IP-COMPASS • Document and report on your student placement outcomes. “Building and sustaining training in WA”
