ITSS will define and promote a unified technology strategy ! There will be one technology strategy plan for all ITSS. Discussions with clients and other IT organizations will be consistent with this plan.

  1. ITSS will define and promote a unified technology strategy ! There will be one technology strategy plan for all ITSS. Discussions with clients and other IT organizations will be consistent with this plan. The technology plan will be regularly updated to reflect changes in business plan and advances in technology.   2. TSS’ strategy will be understood and endorsed by clients! Client forums solicited Vision articulated to clients Technology strategy must meet the needs of Stanford University Technology Strategy

  3. Technology strategy will trend toward uniformity, not unsustainable diversity. ITSS will select and prefer technologies and corresponding products strategically. Technical groups will implement technologies and products consistent with these strategic selections. Technology Strategy

  4. Excellent use of technology is more important than using excellent technology. The use of the very latest technology is a secondary to using tried-and-true technologies well. Technical groups will only implement technologies and products consistent with these strategic selections. Technology Strategy

  5. ITSS will choose and demonstrate prowess in targeted areas of technology. Innovative use and creation of technologies is consistent with Stanford University’s role as a leader. Few areas will be chosen for this type of work These targeted areas will be where industry doesn’t have a good answer and higher education will benefit from our contributions. Technology Strategy
