Production Control Supplier Manual Title Supplier Back-orders • DATE ISSUED • 12/01/2000 • DATE REVISED • 06/05/2013 Section ORDERING Control No. ORD- 007 Written Bryan Robinson Purpose To indicate the method for notifying DMMI of all back-ordered parts that are to be shipped to DMMI when the Delivery Order cannot be shipped complete. Responsibility It is the suppliers responsibility to notify their DMMI Material Planner when they cannot meet the required Delivery Order quantity on the day the order is scheduled to ship, or sooner if the supplier is aware that they cannot meet the expected ship date. When sending the ASN a new delivery date and time is required for all back-orders. Procedure • All Delivery Orders should be shipped complete on the designated date and time as indicated on • the Delivery Order. In the case of a back-order the supplier must: • Notify the DMMI Material Planner of the shortage and receive approval of the new expected • delivery date and time. • All back-orders must be shipped at the suppliers expense on a separate truck unless an • alternate method is approved by DMMI Material Planner. • Each back-order must be on a separate pallet by Delivery Order number with 2 copies of the • original Delivery Order attached to the back-order skid. • Do not mix a back-order with any other Delivery Orders on apallet.
