Members – Council , Energy Consultants, Fuel Companies, Housing Associations, Voluntary Groups, Tenants and Residents Groups, Health Services Consultation Mechanism for Strategy Delivery Vehicle for AWS 2007-2010 Successful projects – Tied Tenancies, CERT Funded Schemes , npower Health Through Warmth (HTW) Creation of AWAG(Affordable Warmth Action Group)

Began October 2006 – at suggestion of AWAG NRF funding of £850,000 kick-started project £3.5m locally invested to date 1980 referrals received – 48% from Health Services NHS involvement Health and financial benefits, reduction in Excess Winter Deaths, Local Employment Walsall Health Through Warmth

Better Housing, Better Health Conference March 2009 – partnership working within Local Area Agreements CIEH Magazine Article – HTW part of PCT Joint Strategic Needs Assessment LACORS (Local Government Regulation) February 2010 – example of good partnership working in practice HINST (Health Inequalities National Support Team) – good practice example of local services working together Praise for HTW Partnership

  6. Commissioned by PCT and Walsall Housing Group Energy Efficiency Team joined as a result of JSNA Target limited funding correctly Provided revenue funding Raised profile of affordable warmth across all of health services Health and Housing Steering Group

  7. Partnership British Gas/WHG £3m+ investment 150 private sector Homes 140 WHG stock First mixed tenure project in country Existing strong partnerships enabled delivery Walsall CESP
