  3. Credits for the Internship Course • The coursestretches over the whole semester (30 hp) • The internship must fit wellwith the semesters at UU (20 January – 8 June 2014) • Youwillnot get creditsor be gradeduntilyouhavehanded in the final Internship Report

  4. Howtoselect the best internship • Considerwhattypeof internship youwishtopersue? NGO, GO, Int. institutions, officework, fieldwork, Academia etc.

Wheretofind an internship • OSCE • Research institutions • Interpeace • Försvarshögskolan • Föreningen för utvecklingsfrågor • Peace Now • NATO • Ministry for ForeignAffairs • Kvinna till Kvinna • Oxfam international • Save the Children • Stockholm EnvironmentalInstitute • …etc……. • SIDA • Olof Palme Int.   6. Selecting • Make list ofpossible organisations, agenciesetc. • Check withcourseconvenerifrelevant/suitable • Make internship budget • Prepareapplicationsto a few organisations/agencies

  7. Yourapplication • Check carefullyhowtoapplyto the specific organisation • Prepareyourapplicationwell • Motivatewhyyouwant the internship • Includepreviousexperience • Be clearabout the semesters at UU (20 January – 8 June 2014)

  8. Whenyouhavefound a suitable organisation for your internship • A writtenagreementbetween the hosting organisation/agency and DPCR must be signed • Check if visa is neccessary • Check what vaccinations areneeded • Provided youfollow the instructions, youwill be insuredduringyourentire internship • Leavecontact information with DPCR • Get yourinsurancecard from DPCR

  9. At the internship • Writeweeklylogbook • Keep in touch with DPCR

  10. Towards the end of the internship • Writeyour final Internship Report (usingyourlogbook) • Hand in final Internship Report (last weekofcourse)

  11. Remember • Select internship carefully • Preparewell • Keepsafe - and in touch with DPCR • Hand in your Final Report
