AutoCAD • Wednesday from 2.20pm until 4.40pm, 8 Year 13 & 14 pupils • Very expensive and complex software used engineering industry. • In the class, we learn basic CAD skills such as drawing basic shapes and building them up to a complex design. • Taken by David Hamilton, from SRC in Portadown. • Three exams, two are drawing exams, one of which will take place on the 10th December, and the other is Theory exam. • Pupils will receive a level 2 City and Guilds qualification. This is a qualification that is well recognised in the engineering industry.

Issues • Laptops take time to load up or run out of battery mid lesson which can be frustrating. • Inability to practise outside class • When everything is working correctly though, the course is enjoyed by the class. • Illustration of how curriculum development met by pupil need rather than being driven by EF.
