Effects of Endurance Exercise Training on HDL-C: Results of HERITAGE Family Study • 20 week endurance training program in 200 men categorized into: low TG (<120 mg/dl)/high HDL (>36 mg/dl), high TG/high HDL, high TG/low HDL, low TG/low HDL (isolated low HDL) • High TG/low HDL had greater evidence of visceral obesity compared to other groups • High TG/low HDL group had significant decrease in TG (15%) and increase in HDL (5%) • Low TG/low HDL group had 0.5% increase in HDL Couillard C et al.
