  • If ordered to evacuate, do not wait or delay your departure.
  • Select an evacuation destination that is nearest to your home, minimizing the distance for travel.
  • If you decide to go far, be prepared to wait in traffic.
  • Make all hotel reservations before you leave.
  • If unable to stay with friends or family, and hotels are unavailable, go to a shelter as a last resort.

  • Discuss the types of hazards that could affect your family. Know your home’s vulnerability to storm surge, flooding and wind. Fire, earthquake, tsunami,…
