What’s their status? • Comment on the status of prefixes: воз-, со- • These are ChSl prefixes, corresponding roughly to Russian вз-, с-, but note the fact that the vowels are stable in these prefixes and there are some differences in meaning • Compare: возвести ‘elevate’ vs. взвести ‘lead up’, совратить ‘pervert, seduce’ vs. своротить ‘dislodge, turn off the road’
