Air Force ROTC Summer Technical Recruiting Internship Program UC Berkeley Air Force ROTC http://airforcerotc.berkeley.edu/ THE PROGRAM The Air Force ROTC Summer Technical Recruiting Internship Program is a highly competitive opportunity for selected college students to work at an Air Force Lab during the summer between their sophomore and junior year in college. This internship is designed for 10 weeks in the summer at an Air Force installation. Selectees will be provided with round trip transportation, lodging and living expenses in addition to a salary of approximately $4,500. INTERNSHIP SITES Eglin AFB (Near Ft Walton Beach, FL) Hanscom AFB (Near Boston, MA) Kirtland AFB (Near Albuquerque, NM) Edwards AFB (Near Los Angeles, CA) Wright-Patterson AFB (Near Dayton, OH) CONTACT INFORMATION Col Randy Morris -- AFROTC Det 085 164 Hearst Gymnasium, Berkeley 510-642-3579 remorris@berkeley.edu • ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS • To be eligible for this program, you must: • Be willing to accept a follow-on Air Force ROTC scholarship, if offered • Be enrolled at an Air Force ROTC host or cross-town college or university and have completed 60 semester or 90 quarter hours prior to the start of the internship • Be able to graduate within 2 years (4 semesters or 8 quarters) after the completion of the internship • Be a US citizen at time of internship • Not be a contracted AFROTC cadet • Meet Air Force moral requirements • If male, register with Selective Service • Be at least 17 at the end of the internship • Complete a medical questionnaire • Be under age 31 on December 31 of the year you will graduate • Meet Air Force weight standards • Have a 2.5+ cumulative college GPA • Be majoring in one of the following fields: • - Electrical, Aeronautical, Computer or Environmental Engineering • ADDITIONAL INFORMATION • NOMINATION PROCEDURES • Deans of engineering colleges may nominate prospective applicants to the commander of the local detachment. • Detachment commanders will contact nominees to complete the application package. The nominee will be required to take a test and fill out a number of forms and to provide official copies of college transcripts and other documents. • - The application package must reach headquarters AFROTC no later than 3 Jan 05. • The selection board will meet on 10 Jan 05. All nominees will be notified of the results through the local AFROTC detachment. • SCHOLARSHIP • Selected program participants may be offered a two-year follow-on AFROTC scholarship. • If offered, this scholarship can pay up to $15,000 tuition/year, $600/year for books, and a monthly stipend ($350/month for junior year, $400/month for senior year ).
