  1. A STRATEGY FOR DISSEMINATING STANDARDS Presented by the Standards of Care (SOC) Committee Fariba Younai, DDS, Co-Chair to the Commission on HIV Health Services County of Los Angeles September 11, 2003

  2. MISSION To distribute key Standards and related materials and products to key audiences for the purposes of:  information,  collaboration,  standardization, and  quality improvement.

  3. EXPANDING THE REACH  Website NATIONAL/GLOBAL  AETCs/NMAETC  Clinic Associations  Medical Advisory Board REGIONAL  Provider Guide  Consumer Brochure  Training LOCAL

  4. AUDIENCES The four target audiences at each level of outreach are:  Consumers,  Providers,  Professionals, and  Policy-makers.

  5. LOCAL EFFORTS  Provider Guide/Workbook: for every standard of care  Consumer Brochure: for every standard of care, in English/Spanish,  Training: for each of the four key audiences

  6. REGIONAL EFFORTS 1)Collaboration with the three AIDS Education Training Centers (AETCs) and one National Minor- ity AETC (NMAETC): UCLA, USC, and Charles Drew (AETC and NMAETC).

  7. REGIONAL EFFORTS (cont.) 2)Attendance at AETC Conferences, 3) Collaboration with the Medical Advisory Board (MAB), 4)Collaboration with professional groups, such as California Medical Board Los Angeles County Medical Association.

  8. NATIONAL/GLOBAL EFFORTS 1)Expedite new Commission website, 2) Feature Standards on the website, 3)Develop key linkages with other sites.
