  2. What’s an author? An author uses their natural gifts with language to entertain, inform and persuade readers with their words. In the future an author will need to adapt to the changing needs of technological readers by publishing different digital media and altering their writing style to fit busy readers needs. Some authors write education books such as textbooks, but others are stories. Some authors are assigned to write about a certain topic by a company or publisher. While many others will write stories from pure imagination or experience. These who simply write stories will send stories to publishers, generally the first three chapters, and attempt to get them published.

  3. Where do they work? Many authors will work at home in a study or private room, given that writing needs solitude. But there are also many authors who enjoy to travel. The place they usually travel to is where ever their book takes place. Some may even live where their book takes place to get a better understanding of their character’s view.

  4. What materials do authors use? When authors write they will jot their notes down in a notebook. Some even will write most of their book in a notebook. But the most convenient and commonly used tool for an author is a computer. They use the computer to contact publishers and write their book down.

  5. What skills do you need to be an author? The case with many authors is that they will have had a love for reading when they were young and still enjoy it today. It is an important skill to enjoy and read many books as this will give you an idea of the format that many books have. One thing important for story writing authors to have is imagination. This allows authors to think of interesting and original ideas that people will buy. But the most important skill an author can have is a good idea of grammar and sentence structure.
