  4. Introduction (continued) • Software to download and install Grouper • Requirements: Java SDK 6 • Packed in 1 small Java jar • Downloads released versions of Grouper • Unpacked them • Configures them 4

  5. Introduction (continued) • Will download ant and tomcat • Built-in HSQL database or use your own • Prints progress, learn how it works • Asks for user input

  6. Running the installer • Download the Grouper installer jar • or tarball which contains the jar • Copy it to the directory where you want Grouper installed (optional) • Run it: java -jar grouperInstaller.jar 6

  7. Limitations • It cannot stop the loader • If you have ports in use, and you select those ports for the installer, it could be confusing or cause a problem • It is more smooth if you are running a clean install, not an upgrade
