Don'ts during an Interview • Don’t speak negative about the past (job, college, school etc.) • Don’t show over or under confidence verbally and non-verbally • Don’t chew gums during an interview • Don’t use the interviewer table to keep belongings of the interviewee • Don’t falsify while answering questions • Don’t answer without answering the exact meaning and context of the questions • Don’t lose temper when provocative questions are asked Interview Preparation, Dr. Manishankar Chakraborty

Don’ts during an Interview • Don’t use very strong perfumes and too much of cosmetics • Don’t try to be someone else while in an interview • Don’t fidget with pens, nails, hairs, beards, GSM etc. • Don’t take calls/respond to SMS during an interview • Don’t use any slangs, un-parliamentary words during the interview • Don’t get too personal and friendly with the interviewer even though the interviewer may try to do so • Don’t read out anything from a prepared text Interview Preparation, Dr. Manishankar Chakraborty

Don’ts during an Interview • Don’t be rigid while answering any question especially the ones related to the need of flexibility at the workplace • Don’t abuse systems, processes, individuals, companies even if the interviewer provokes you with some instigating remarks • Don’t panic • Don’t show your worries and tension by remaining balanced and cool • Don’t enter the room without permission and with a bang • Don’t bang the door while going out of the interview room Interview Preparation, Dr. Manishankar Chakraborty

After the Interview • Thank the panel of interviewers • Leave with a positive body language • Follow-up telephonically or through email • Learn from the shortcomings if you happen to fail • Networking with the professionals irrespective of the outcome of the result would help • Look ahead after analyzing the outcome Interview Preparation, Dr. Manishankar Chakraborty
