Coupling of Microsoft Office 365 with Tutoring Portal Helps Students Organize Their Learning “Through the tie-in with the Microsoft account, we are broadening the learning calendar on kapiert.de and therefore supporting independent learning.” – Dr. Stephan Kyas, project leader, kapiert.de • SITUATION • The digitalization in the education sector requires strong cooperation. To achieve interoperability within the different systems and their components, interfaces are necessary. The interface must be able to support pupils in their academic organizations and develop their digital competencies. When introducing the kapiert.de learning calendar in the online portal, it became clear that collaborative working is the base of structured learning. OFFICE 365 ISV: Westermann Gruppe WEB SITE: www.kapiert.de LOCATION: Braunschweig, Germany ORG SIZE: 800 employees OFFICE 365 ISV PROFILE: The Westermann Gruppeis a significant provider of educational media in Germany. kapiert.de is an innovative online learning platform for math, Englishand German for secondary school grades 5-10 (ages 11-16). • SOLUTION • By combining the learning calendar of the online portal with the Microsoft mailbox, the assignments can now be taken from kapiert.de’s “Lernmanager” (study organizer) and saved to be recalled through programs such as Microsoft Outlook. With Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft has achieved the integration of collaborative working processes. With the help of the learning calendars, students are now reminded of their work and all necessary deadlines this way. • BENEFITS • The coupling of calendars and Microsoft Office 365 helps students be better organized. Better coordination means better grades and more free time. • The reputation of Office 365 and a strong network of certified partners give customers added confidence in today’s digital world of learning.
