  12. ASSESSMENT PERIOD • MEMBER IDENTIFIED AS NOT MEETING BODY FAT STANDARD • MEDICAL CLEARANCE REQUIRED AND INITIAL DIET/EXERCISE COUNSELING WITHIN 15 DAYS • MEMBER CANNOT ASSUME HIGHER GRADE People are our business

  13. 3-MONTH EXERCISE AND DIETARY PERIOD (WSC 0) • ALLOW MEMBER TO IMPLEMENT TRAINING RECEIVED FROM HAWC • INELIGIBLE FOR PME, PROMOTION, OR REENLISTMENT • AFTER 3 MONTHS, REEVALUATED AND ENTERED INTO PHASE 1/ INITIAL ENTRY, OR PHASE 2 People are our business

  14. PHASE 1 • MEMBER DOESN’T MEET BODY FAT STANDARDS • INELIGIBLE TO REENLIST, PCS, ATTEND PME, FORMAL TRAINING, OR ASSUME NEXT HIGHER GRADE • REQUIRED TO BE WEIGHED AND MEASURED MONTHLY AND MAKE PROGRESS People are our business

  15. PHASE 1 • INITIAL ENTRY (WSC 6) • SATISFACTORY PROGRESS (WSC 1) • MEMBER LOSES REQUIRED MONTHLY WEIGHT/BODY FAT • PROMOTION WITHOLD • UNSAT PROGRESS (WSC 2) • MEMBER FAILS TO LOSE WEIGHT/BODY FAT • INELIGIBLE FOR PROMOTION FOR CYCLE People are our business

PHASE 2 (WSC 3) • MEMBER MEETS BODY FAT STANDARDS • 6-MONTH OBSERVATION PERIOD, MONTHLY WEIGHT AND BODY FAT CHECKS CONTINUE • ELIGIBLE FOR ALL PERSONNEL ACTIONS • FAILURE TO MAINTAIN BODY FAT STANDARD RESULTS IN PLACEMENT INTO PHASE 1, UNSAT, WSC 2 • CASE FILE DESTROYED AT END OF OBSERVATION PERIOD People are our business

BODY FAT STANDARD ADJUSTMENT • UNIT COMMANDER RECOMMENDS • REFERRED TO HOSPITAL FOR EVALUATION • INSTALLATION COMMANDER APPROVAL FOR 12 MONTHS • UPON EXPIRATION OF BFSA, MEMBER PLACED IN PHASE 1, SAT, WSC 1 IF NOT MEETING STANDARDS OR IN PHASE 2, WSC 3 IF MEETING STANDARDS People are our business

TEMPORARY MEDICAL DEFERRAL • BASED UPON DOCTOR RECOMMENDATION • UNIT CC MAY APPROVE IN 6 MONTH INCREMENTS, NOT TO EXCEED 12 MONTHS • UNIT CC MAY APPROVE UP TO 18 MONTHS FOR PREGNANCY • UPON EXPIRATION OF MEDICAL DEFERRAL, MEMBER PLACED IN PHASE 1, SAT, WSC 1 IF NOT MEETING STANDARDS OR IN PHASE 2, WSC 3 IF MEETING STANDARDS People are our business
