  3. Advances • What has been accomplished • Transition of illumination segment to SOA • Two experiment started and in final planning stage • PorquerollesIs. France • SMARTEX Mobile Bay, USCG/NATO • Advances in EOSTAR, NEON, and TAWS • AREPS re-funded • Improved coupling of numerical weather predictions to operational needs, e.g. AREPS • Boundary layer modeling improvements in stable thermal conditions

  4. Workshop Accomplishments • Information exchange • DOD Illumination Service is operational and everyone knows it • New city illumination model • Global Hawk “no kidding” users • Predator “no kidding” users

  5. Workshop Issues • Funding • Navy gone to zero • Air Force going to zero • Only solution is • Call on our users (direct military applicability shown to sponsors) • Collaborate, Collaborate, COLLABORATE!

  6. Other Issues • BACIMO Battlefield Atmosphere- Cloud Impact on Military Operations • Rename meeting • Sponsorship and scheduling of BACIMO(?) and WIDA • Current plan is alternate years (DoD travel limits) and no formal sponsor
