  2. REVIEW: What Is An Adjective? An adjective describes a noun or pronoun. It answers the questions: what kind? or how many? or which one? • EXAMPLES OF ADJECTIVES • Happy • Strong • Sad • Weak • This • That • These • Those

  3. Tonight at 9:00, When Adjectives Compare!!! To compare two things, add –er to “short” adjectives. For “long” adjectives, use the word more. Also, use than. examples My dog is bigger than yours. New York City is more crowded than Hazleton. To compare three or more things, add –est to “short” adjectives. For “long” adjectives, use the word most. examples My dog is the biggest dog in the world. Tokyo is the most crowded city in the world.

Try These • Forests are more/most peaceful than towns. • Rain forests are the lusher/lushest (lush=exquisito) forests of all. • The prettier/prettiest rain forests in the world is near my old home in Costa Rica. • The trees here are shorter/shortest than trees in Costa Rica. --more peaceful --lushest --prettiest --shorter
