  1. The Proposal Dan de Carvalho

  2. A review of progress and achievement • I’m beginning to develop my understanding of what animation is and how its made. • I’ve begun to explore and experiment with some of it’s different forms. • Developed a basic understanding of Flashand Premiere and applied my knowledge to create some short animations. • I’ve begun to know how to structure my creative thinking and the process’ necessary to arrive at a successful animation.

  3. Project concept I aim to focus my studies and research into 2D animators and artists such as Tex Avery and end up with an animation which reflects work such as his to a certain level. I hope to produce an animation which looks professional and polished; with a simple plot but with an unexpected twist. My aim is to develop a main character which the whole animation will feature around. I hope to create a small world for my character to interact with and one or two other characters to create a small scenario which audiences can relate to. I want to keep it short (2-3) mins max and give it replay ability. If I have time I’ll animate the same main character but in a different scenario. If I don’t have time I’ll present some simple animatics of different possibilities for other episodes. I also hope to explore simple animating techniques such as ‘Mickey Mousing’ and experiment with creating my own my own sounds that will enrich the visuals. As I’m already comfortable with using Flash and Premiere I think I’m just going to continue using them for this project to avoid me wasting time learning other programs. I’d love to try out 3D animation but I won’t have time and I don’t feel it’s particularly necessary at this stage. It’s something which I can explore in depth at university anyway.
