About • WV GIS Technical Center was funded by WV Division of Highways to inventory, collect, attribute, and integrate all publicly accessible recreational trails in West Virginia • Coordinators • Bill Robinson – State Trails Coordinator • Hussein Elkhansa– GIS Section Head • Theresa Litteral– Trails Manager, Rahall Transportation Institute

  3. Trail Database Metrics • ~ 1,127 trails • ~ 4,161 total miles • 18 managing organizations • 126 management areas • 218 trail contacts

  8. Search by Trail Name Search results return trail names with counties Hover cursor over trail names to highlight trail on map

  9. Filter by Trail Use Select ‘Trail Use’ icon to highlight trails on map

  10. Submit Trail Info Fill out submission formto report trail information A link to the map view is embedded with email to admin

  11. Print Map to PDF Click icon to start generating map Uses ArcGIS 10.1 print service and custom map template

  12. Static Maps and Trail Reports 3 trail reports and 55 static maps automated with Python
