  1. Knowledge Management: Common and Critical resources Survey questions and answers for the 4th Conference of Ombuds and Deans of Students in Higher Education Australasia.

  2. Introduction • The intent of the survey is to share the collated information as a resource, as well as to examine what common ground and applications we all have.

  3. Context Briefly outline your role/s so we can contextualise the information provided • Assisting students with problems before they become formal complaints. • Being part of the academic board, the education committee, and student services. • Managing a Complaints Office • Handling complaints, grievances, appeals by any member of the university; students or staff. • A policy advisor on academic matters and administrative affairs.

  9. 3. How much contact do you have with the university staff, for example, counselling? • Varied from as needs basis to: • informal contacts • annual meetings • monthly meetings • presentations at training sessions • regular meetings, and constant contact

  10. 3. How much contact do you have with the university staff, for example, counselling? • Contact was considered important: ‘I see no point in working in a vacuum; all student services work for the [university] and our common goal is to enhance the student experience at [the university].’
