  3. Brazilian Strategy • ReMAV • Government sponsored Call for Proposals • Consortium between universities, infrastructure providers and application-driven institutions to: • implement advanced MANs • train people on how to use and operate advanced MANs

  4. Brazilian Strategy • REMAVs • First ReMAV begin operation in 1999 • 14 cities (34 to 622Mbps) • 79 institutions: universities, research institutions, government, telecom, cable TV companies, electrical, hospitals and TV stations • total investment $20 M • 10+ different applications
