  3. What I Already Knew I really didn’t know much about this disease before I started this paper. I did know that most of the time it starts from a tumor on the pituitary glad. I also know that it is a form of giantism and very few people have it.

  4. The Story of my Search • I learned that on power library sites it gives you the MLA citation. • Bib cards are now a lot easier since they changed them. • Reference books are easier than I thought they were. • Sharpened my skills with a non linear power point. • Making citations with easy bib is really easy.

  5. What I Want to know • Is it hereditary? • How dangerous is it to your health? • What are the symptoms? • How is it treated? • How is it diagnosed? • What are the long term affects? • What can cause it?

  6. My Search Results I learned that acromegaly is not just caused by a tumor but can also be caused by producing to much human growth hormone. I also learned some of the symptoms but here are some that stood out to me. Protruding jaw, barrel chest and for women they start to produce breast milk at any time. I learned some of the treatments. The treatments include removal of the tumor if needed, radiation therapy, and the use of a growth hormone blocking drug. Acromegaly usually shortens a person life by approximately 20 years. Lately there has been reports of athletes being diagnose with acromegaly because they have started using HGH for a form of steroids.

  7. My Growth as a Researcher • I guess my growth is pretty good but I would have to say I’m pretty much at a 6 out of 10
