  3. Austrian Television Film Fund established in January 1, 2004 • Established within the Austrian Regulatory Authority for Broadcasting and Telecommunications (RTR) • 7,5 Mio. EUR budget

  4. Objectives under the fund guidelines • Quality of television-filmproduction • Capacity of the Austrian film industry • Austria as a media-location • Ensuring the diversity of cultural landscape • To contribute to the strengthening of the audivisual sector in Europe

  5. Prerequesites for grants Funding will be granted in particular for the following • Production of: television films series documentaries • Length: about 23 minutes • Eligible to apply are independent producers and production companies • The financing must be secured • Television Companies can only acquire the rights for TV-movies and documentaries for a maximum of 7 years; the rights to series can be up to 10 years

  6. Grant forms and amounts • 20 % of overall production costs • Limits: TV-movies up to 700.000 EUR TV-series up to 120.000 EUR TV-documentaries up to 200.000 EUR • Non-repayable subsidy • Possible to combine grants with other subsidies but not with grants from the Austrian Film Institute

  7. The aims of the Television Film Fund • Support of the production • To increase the economic success and quality • To support the cultural, economic and international interests of the Austrian film industry • To strengthen the economic capability of the Austrian film industry • To ensure the rights for the indenpendent producers.

  8. Application and review process • Four submission dates per year • Comments of the Fachbeirat: 5 members with years of experience in the film industry • Decisions: Prof. Dr. Alfred Grinschgl, Executive Managing Director
