Welcome to MPJH Cooks! Our club aims to educate members on common cooking ingredients and techniques, taste new foods, and create a student recipe cookbook for fundraising. By participating, you'll be contributing to your school's well-being. Everyone must fill out an allergy form. Prepare a menu featuring your favorite foods from various categories, and bring recipes for each dish. Enjoy fun activities like taste tests and smell tests with herbs and spices. Let’s cook, learn, and share delicious experiences together!

My Ideal Meal Your job is to create a menu that includes one of your favorite foods from each category below and bring in a recipe for each dish. We will be compiling these into a cookbook. Breakfast Food: Appetizer or Snack: Soup or Salad: Main Course/Entrée: Side Dish (veggie, pasta, rice, etc.): Dessert:
Taste Test Time! • Salty- pretzel sticks • Bitter-dark chocolate • Sour-lemonade • Sweet-honey and graham crackers • Umami (savory/depth)- Parmesan Cheese
Try Something New! 4 Herb Chimichurri Ingredients: 4 chopped garlic cloves 1/2 cup cilantro leaves 1/2 cup parsley leaves 6 large basil leaves 1 tablespoon oregano leaves 2 tablespoons minced white onion 2 tablespoons minced red bell pepper $ 1 teaspoon salt 2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin 1 1/2 teaspoons to 1 tbsp. anchochile powder 2 tablespoons olive oil 2 tablespoons red-wine vinegar Preparation: 1. In a food processor, pulse garlic, cilantro, parsley, basil, oregano, onion, bell pepper, salt, pepper, cumin, and anchochile powder until coarsely chopped. 2. Pour in olive oil and red-wine vinegar and whirl to combine. Pack in a travel-safe container. Note: Nutritional analysis is per 1 1/2 tbsp. serving. Guy Fieri, Sunset MAY 2009
