This training will cover • Checking call settings – preparing for a call • Add a contact • Making a video call • Writing a message • Send a file • Screen sharing – see the other persons screen - work on a document together - demonstrate a skill or tool • Status settings – shows who sees you online

  4. GETTING STARTED Firstly you need someone to call • You can find people on Skype using their email address • or Skype name Skype names of trainers Kerry.paceJimskeane andthenurse

  5. Adding a contact • Click - Add a contact - (Right hand side of Skype screen about ¾ of the way down) • Type in their Skype name or email address • Find the person you want – be careful • Add to contacts = Skype sends an invite to their Skype account • Accept invitation – this adds you to their contacts list • READY TO CALL

  6. Always “Check your settings” before you call This button helps you check: speakers / headphones / microphone Webcam and computer speed are all ready lllll

  13. Change your online status It is important when you are taking a call to change your online status . This prevents unwanted interruptions • Do not Disturb • Available • Away • Offline / invisible Remember to change your online status when you finish your call
