SCL Target Population • Excludes: • New students who have nine or more successfully completed college credit hours. • College Reading I and College Writing I students.
Lessons Learned • Student engagement is critical to student success. • Having full-time faculty interested in working with first-year students who need skills for college success is key. • Early and consistent intervention for non-attending students using MineOnline email and retention contribution information can help more students successfully complete the class.
Plans for the Future • Propose SCL-1003 to Curriculum Committee in hopes of Fall 2011 implementation. • Expand cooperative learning training for Success faculty and add cooperative learning activities to instructor resources. • Continue to recruit full-time faculty to teach the course. • Continue to develop and refine Success Student Outreach.
