The purpose of this talk is • not to give you • Internet sites, Internet sites and more Internet sites • quick fixes to technology for your classroom use • to give you time to think about • what is your purpose of using technology in the classroom • how effective technology is in language learning

Presentation: Present your weather report.

  12. Part Two – You are going to learn about two of the animals your saw in the video. • In pairs, choose at least two animals from the song. Go to the Internet sites KidsPlanet or World Wildlife. • Where do your animals live: North America, South American, Europe or Africa? • Click on the name of your animal and answer the following questions. • Where does the animal live? Does it live in any other area of the world? If yes, where? • What does it eat? • How many of these animals are in the world? • How long are the females pregnant (gestation period) • How many babies does this animal have in each litter? • Why do you think the animal is endangered? • Add one more interesting fact. • Presentation - Do the following: Prepare a presentation about one of the animals you learned about. Your presentation should include answers to the questions above

  13. Way to Go: Unit 3 In Case of a Disaster If there is a fire, flood or earthquake and any other disaster you must learn to be prepared. What can you do? • Your home • Your family • Your pets and/or animals • Prepare a website, brochure or presentation

Pets and Disasters If there is a fire, flood or earthquake and any other disaster, your pet or farm animals will need your help. • Choose a pet or farm animal. • What are the daily needs of your pet or farm animal? • Choose one of these sites and make a plan in case there is a disaster. • Make a Disaster Plan for PetsReady.gov: Brochure(pdf) • Caring for Animals • Prepare a list of steps you’ll need to help your pet or farm animal in case of a disaster. Make sure the list is in the order of what you need to do.
