Pipe Infrastructure Data Accessibility Survey by Wendy Flynn, Encinitas April 2016

This survey conducted by Wendy Flynn in Encinitas aims to assess the accessibility of infrastructure data by local agencies. It includes questions on agency responses, availability of data through public-facing apps and downloading, non-disclosure agreements, and access restrictions. The survey received responses from various agencies such as the City of San Diego and Padre Dam Municipal Water District. The infrastructure referred to includes water, recycled water, sewer, storm, fuel, energy transmission lines, and fiber optics. The survey results will lead to changes in the public-facing app in Encinitas. Contact Wendy Flynn for more information.

  8. New Issues and Work-Arounds • Some (one?) Engineering staff (via personal laptop) view pipe infrastructure data through MyEncinitas. Also, some Engineering Firms have been told about the infrastructure data in MyEncinitas and (routinely?) view it. • Compromise: Allow access to MyEncinitas version with pipe infrastructure data if static IP is on COE list.
