  2. Shelter • Shelter for the Jews was provided in convents and monasteries as well as in homes of Christian families.

  3. Changes • False identity papers had to be made. They had to adapt to the families religion that they were living with.

  4. People Saved • About 4,000 to 6,000 Jews were saved by the underground rescue organizations.

  5. Rescuers • These individuals suffered severe consequences if they were caught.

  6. Zegota • A major underground rescue organizations in Poland.
