  2. 3 Phase Project to: Bridge the Gap 1 3 2 Survey Student Injury Rate Produce Return to Dance Protocol Study successful recovery programs A plan to get dancers back on the stage faster and safer

  3. 1 Survey: Develop a survey that will determine the most common injury among undergraduate students in UofM’s School of Dance. Now until Sept. 2013

  4. Survey Development • Complete an IRB application and be granted approval. • Review of the literature • Justify need for this project • Coordination between disciplines • Create an online survey using Qualtrics to determine the most common injuries.

  5. 2 Study: the recovery process of the most common dance Sept. 2013-Dec. 2013

  6. Analyze/Study • Analyze the responses to the survey to determine the most common injuries among dancer. • Using this information develop a secondary screening tool that can be used to measure the rates of reinjures vs. a “successful” return to performance.
