  2. The London Eye is a very high and big Ferris wheel. It is situated on the bank of the river Thames in London, England.

  3. It is 135 metres tall and the diameter of the wheel is 120 metres.

  4. It is the tallest in Europe, and it’s the most popular attraction in UK. It is visited by millions of people evey year, over 3.5 million.

  5. The London Eye is supported by an A-frame on one side only, their operators described it like “the world’s tallest contilevered observation wheel”

  6. People who go up are able to see a fantastic view of London. The observation deck was opened to the public on 1 February 2013.

  7. Its official name is The Bristish Airways London Eye, but since 20 January 2011, it called the EDF Energy London Eye.

  8. It cost 70 million euros, and it was designed by architects Frank Anatole, Nic Nailey, Steve Chilton, Malcolm Cook, Mark Sparrowhawk, and the husband-and-wife Julie Barfield and David Marks.

  9. The London Eye was opened to the public on 31 December 1999. The Eye is the focal point of London’s New Year celebrations.
