Tips for using diversity in school settings:
  • Listen to the other person’s point of view. Seek to understand the content of the person’s ideas and the meaning it has for that person.

.Encourage each member of a collaborative group to share knowledge and perceptions about an issue, in order to establish a solid framework in which to discuss the issue.

.Encourage input from as many sources as possible when deliberating upon a difficult problem, in order to take advantage of many styles, preferences, and cultural perspectives.
