    3. 6/9/2012 3 What is a Cover Page A Cover Page is the initial document of a Document Set A page that appears as the first, and sometimes the only, page of a fax transmission. A cover page usually includes transmission information fields such as sender name, fax number, company name, address, phone number, recipient name and fax number, total number of pages in the fax, date and time of transmission, subject of the fax, and a note

    4. 6/9/2012 4 CPSC 203 Cover Page Specifications The cover page should include: Your name Course and Tutorial section Your TA's name The Assignment number The current date and time All in a box in the upper right corner of the page

    5. 6/9/2012 5 Creating the Cover Page Make sure the Formatting toolbar appears by checking (View | Toolbars | Formatting) Click on the Align Right button It will enable you type at the upper right corner of the page Note that the default is Align Left

    6. 6/9/2012 6 Cover Page Borders & Shading Go to (Format | Borders and Shading …) The following box appears

    7. 6/9/2012 7 Border Settings Move to the next line then Select Your cover Page Information. Format | Borders and Shading … Make your choice of Setting, Style, Color, Width and Apply to Paragraph. Preview your settings

    8. 6/9/2012 8 Shading Settings When you are done with the Border settings, Click on the Shading Tab and make your choice of Fill, Patterns, Style, Color and Apply to Paragraph. Preview your settings

    9. 6/9/2012 9 Working with Multiple Documents Save the document i.e. the Cover Page Create a new document Insert | File | Select the file to be inserted into the current document The saved document is automatically inserted into the current document No need for Copying & Pasting! No need to Redo the Cover Page over and over again!!

    10. 6/9/2012 10 Page Break Change the Align settings to the default value Insert a page break immediately after the cover page (Insert | break | Next Page) Start your main document from this new page

    11. 6/9/2012 11 Page Setup File | Page Setup Set the Paper Margins, Orientation, Size, Layout and Apply to the whole document. Preview the settings

    12. 6/9/2012 12 Inserting Hyperlinks in Documents Insert | Hyperlinks… (Ctrl + K) Select Browsed Pages or type the link address and Enter the Text to display
