LSP Issues • Essential Skills • Get math ASAP..so can take STAT190 • Modes • Gen Psych double-counts toward your SS mode • PSYC466 is a WE course • BS..psych allows double-counting..everyone will earn this (as a result of doing required modes courses)
Changes/Issues • PSYC266: grade of C or better • Take by final semester of sophomore year • Waitlists..only for General psych • Still use override form • 300- and 400-level coursework • Take 2-3 classes each semester in jr and sr years • Major restriction will protect you • DegreeWorks..planning option • Include fun classes!!
Required Support • Everyone must take ANOVA, Regression, or Non-parametric • 15 hours in one area • Minor • Internship • Cluster of courses that make sense (coherent theme)
Summer 2012 Courses • At least one course from each grouping • No major restriction • Full-time = 9 credit hours • More = overload (get provost permission) • Two courses per 5-week block • All online except for Sal’s classes

Internships • 5-15 hours of academic credit • 60 (+) cum hours with 2.75 min cum GPA • Application from Provost office • Interviews by Truman supervisor, psych dept. chair, and SCS Dean • Many sites already exist ..Sal Costa is contact for these • Some are paid internships (PFH, Edgewood) • Can set up your own site, too
Graduate School • Masters vs. Ph.D. • Entrance requirements • Minimum GPA, GRE scores, and letters of recommendation • Involvement in research • Historically, our dept. has helped to pay for your travel expenses to MPA (Chicago) • Scholarship hours • Academic credit (PSYC441)
