  1. Why do Bright Horizons centers across Boston and Cambridge have different tuition fees when they adopt the same curriculum and assessments? Bright Horizons…

  2. Comparing prices

  3. From information we gathered, there is a slight difference in fees. After further investigation, they explained that LOCATION is the dominantfactor affecting the FEES.

  4. Take a look at the physical environment of different centres.

  5. Bright Horizons: University Park

  6. Bright Horizons: Seaport

  7. Bright Horizons: Schraftt Centre

  8. Bright Horizons: Prudential Centre

  9. Differences We Noticed: • Some centers are client-based, some are not. • Maintenance of the resources in the classroom. • Daily routine practices.

  10. The centre says that they are using the same curriculum and assessment. • However, we question that is it fair & authentic assessment? Due to the different nature of the centre such as client based and community, children get different resources. Will different exposure to the materials in the curriculum affect the assessment results? Is it fair to adopt the same assessment method?

  11. Our thoughts and feelings: • According to Bronfenbrenner’s ecological perspective, the child’s relationship within his environment, greatly affects his development. • Hence we feel that we should provide the best environment and materials for the children, to ensure that they reach their maximum potential. • When the environment and resources do not support children to reach their maximum potential, it would affect the children’s assessment too!
