  7. jouer à / faire de Two verbs are used to speak about sports in French: joueràand faire de. Use joueràwhen talking about games you play in a team or against someone. Remember that the preposition àwill need to agree with the name of the sport (masculine, feminine or plural).

Le futur simple des verbes irréguliers We have learned that most verbs form their futur simple by adding regular endings (ai, as, a, ons, ez, ont) to the infinitive form, e.g. aimer(ai), sortir(ai) and (after taking away the final e) prendr(ai). However, there are a few irregular verbs that don’t form le futur simple with their infinitive.

  11. The good news is that they use the same endings as the regular verbs. You need to know them by heart, as they can be quite different!
