Where to start… • Start brainstorming ideas now for fundraising throughout the THON season! • Alternative Fundraisers can’t be held past February 17th • No Alternative Fundraiser is submitted too early! • All Alternative Fundraiser ideas/requests must be submitted 14 days in advance on THINK by your Captain • Have questions? • Email alternative.fundraising@thon.org

  4. Top Alternative Fundraising Ideas • Merchandise Sale for Committees • Sweatshirts • Socks • Committee Name Wristbands • Events • Mr. and Mrs. Committee Name (ex. COMM, Finance, etc.) • Sports Tournament • Karaoke/Dance Off • Spelling Bee • Captain Date Auction • Beauty Pageant • Any sort of Holiday Event • Candygrams • Giftwrapping

  6. Rules to Remember… • THON Rulebook pages 27-31 • Important Rules to Follow • 2.2.8.4.1. All Alternative Fundraising event requests must be submitted on THINK at least 2 WEEKS PRIOR TO THE EVENT or they will be immediately denied. • 2.2.8.4.1.1. Organizations are able to edit all alternative fundraisers up until the time when the request is either denied or approved. • 2.2.8.5. The nature and name of the event must be THON appropriate. If it would not be appropriate for a Four Diamonds Family to attend, it should not be submitted. • 2.2.8.15. All fundraisers must have 100% of the proceeds being donated directly to THON.

  7. Bake Sales • More Rules! • 2.2.8.6.1. Bake sales are not allowed to take place on any Penn State Campus due to University Policy. • 2.2.8.6.2. For bake sales occurring in State College, the document on www.thon.org/documents titled “Bake Sale Application” must be completed at least seven (7) days before the event. • 2.2.8.6.2.4. All bake sales must end by 10pm.

  8. With no Canning Weekends in the Spring Semester it’s the PERFECT time to have Alternative Fundraisers!!
